AstroApp allows you to easily Connect to a friends computer. This is done via the FriendsList. To do this each person needs an AstroCity login username which can be created for free right inside AstroApp under the 'Login...' menu. To control a friend's computer follow these 6 easy Steps.
1. Both you and your friend need to launch AstroApp and login to AstroCity. Obtain a free username first if you need one.
2. Add each other to your FriendsList.
3. Initiate a connection by doing one of the following:
* The friend wishing to share their desktop invites the other person to control by selecting the button at the bottom of the their FriendsList named "Invite To View My Desktop" when the person is selected.
* The friend who would like to view and control the other person's desktop requests control by selecting the button at the bottom of their FriendsList named "Request Control Of Desktop" when the person is selected.
4. After answering yes to the invitation or request the friends desktop will appear in a window on your computer.
5. If you want to have a meeting with more then one user viewing and controlling the desktop at the same time then repeat steps 1 through 4 for each user. A meeting can have up to 10 users.
6. If you would like to have automatic access to the computer without someone having to be at the computer to answer yes to the request simply put your AstroCity username into the "Auto-Allow Friend" field of the remote computer. This is found under the "AstroCity Settings..." dialog under the "Login" menu.
For free access friends must connect their computers directly to each other. To achieve this one side of the connection needs to have one port forwarded correctly to their computer. The "Port Tester..." found under the "Login" menu can help you make sure you have done this correctly. It allows you to enter a port number and test if its forwarded properly.
